REACH 2026 Seminar: A Simple Call to Join the Mission

The REACH 2026 Seminar and Orientation finished strong, leaving a clear message: everyone has a role in the mission. Organized by NDR/IEL with the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries, Youth Ministries, and Elders, the one-day event showed that reaching every neighbor and every community starts with one person saying yes.

This year’s gathering marked a milestone in North Central Mindanao, with 1,050 participants attending for the first time at the REACH 2025 Orientation and Seminar. The North Central Mindanao venue underscored the program’s local reach and its new steady rhythm of ongoing community involvement. In addition, NDR-IEL directors noted a significant role of church involvement as Zamboanga Peninsula hold another seminar on January 24, which reinforced REACH 2026’s momentum across diverse communities.

Top leaders from the Southern Asia-Pacific Division shared a clear, practical call to action. Pastor Arnel Gabin, Vice President for NDR; Pastor Segundino Asoy, Sabbath School & Personal Ministries Director; and Pastor Heshbon Buscato, Youth Director, spoke about working together. Directors from Southwestern Philippine Union Conference—Pastor Jerrymil Pamonag, Pastor Teddy Ba-ang, Pastor Junifer Colegado, and Pastor Arnel Benasahan—joined in to show that collaboration is essential. The event also benefited from the support of the Zamboanga Peninsula Mission and Western Mindanao Conference Administration, making the program run smoothly.

Pastor Jerry Vicente and Pastor Jun Asoy were recognized for turning ideas into action. They showed how leadership can spark real change in local communities—listening, encouraging, and guiding people to serve.

Attendance reflected the message’s reach: approximately 1,050 participants joined the North Central Mindanao session, while overall event estimates ranged from 4,500 to 6,000. Attendees heard practical talks about applying faith to daily life—service in cities and rural areas, mentoring in schools and workplaces, and online outreach. The broader program addressed real questions about turning faith into acts of love, mercy, and justice.

The theme centered on Matthew 24:14: This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world… The message emphasized mission as a global effort with local roots, grounded in timeless guidance from Ellen G. White about every disciple being a missionary and members serving in needy areas. The takeaway was simple: start now, where you are, with the people you know.

What does this mean for everyday life? The organizers outlined practical paths that anyone can take:

Personal outreach: invite a neighbor to events, start hopeful conversations, or help someone in need.

Volunteer leadership: take on roles that train, mentor, and mobilize others in children’s programs, small groups, or service projects.

Community partnership: work with local nonprofits, schools, and health initiatives to tackle needs like poverty, education gaps, mental health, and disaster readiness.

Digital discipleship: use online tools to share hope, form accountability groups, and coordinate service.

Outcomes point to a future where mission becomes a natural rhythm across divisions. Participants reported clearer goals for REACH 2026 and stronger collaboration across NDR/IEL, Sabbath School & Personal Ministries, Youth Ministries, and Elder leadership. The focus on training, volunteer paths, and community work shows a practical, scalable approach to serving communities.

This is more than a briefing; it’s a real invitation to act. Your presence, talents, and time are what the mission needs. A simple act of kindness, a mentorship moment, or a community cleanup can start a ripple that grows beyond what you imagine.

Looking ahead, planners hope to turn this momentum into lasting impact. By collecting feedback, investing in leadership, and expanding outreach locally and regionally, REACH 2026 aims to unlock the potential in every member. The goal is to spread the gospel and bring practical, everyday transformation through acts of love.

If you’ve hesitated about stepping forward, this is your invitation. Your experience and gifts matter. Join in through direct service, local leadership, or digital outreach. Every small act adds up to something bigger.

The church will stay focused on turning energy into durable programs that deepen leadership and widen outreach in every neighborhood. The shared goal remains the same: move forward in faith, unity, and mission as REACH 2026 grows across the churches in Southwestern Philippine Union Conference- Zamboanga Peninsula on
