SwPUC Successfully Concludes Union-Wide Pink Ministries Convention, Empowering the Next Generation
Driven by a deep commitment to equip and spiritually uplift the youth, the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference (SwPUC) Women’s Ministries Department has successfully wrapped up a historic series of Pink Ministries Conventions.
This global initiative, originally launched by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, marked its first-ever official rollout within the SwPUC territory. Proudly led by SwPUC Women's Ministries Director Mrs. Marife M. Patalinghug, the program is specially designed for "Pink Ladies"—dynamic young women aged 13 to 20, as well as dedicated single women aged 20 and above. Acknowledging their vital role in the church, Mrs. Patalinghug traveled across the union, collaborating closely with her counterparts from various local missions and conferences to personally train these young women for active service in ministry.
During this period, the extensive convention tour swept like a wave of spiritual revival across Mindanao's diverse landscapes, inspiring nearly 1,500 young delegates from April to May 2026. The significant journey covered five major territories, passionately led by their respective local directors: the Zamboanga Peninsula Mission (Mrs. Sharon Dulang), Western Mindanao Conference (Mrs. Victoria Besin), Northeastern Mindanao Mission (Mrs. Kenneth Baal), North Central Mindanao Conference (Mrs. Charlene Arellano), and Central Mindanao Mission (Mrs. Loeweliey Campañero). To foster spiritual harmony, the conventions centered on action-driven themes like “Young Women for Mission: Grounded, Growing, Going” and “PINK LIFE ROOTED IN GOD’S WORD, RADIANT FOR HIS MISSION,” deeply integrating the delegates in their identity in Christ through dedicated worship, consecration, and communion.
Furthermore, the core of these conventions was found in the vibrant, hands-on workshop stations, carefully crafted to equip delegates with practical life skills and innovative evangelism tools. To foster their creative and entrepreneurial spirit, delegates enthusiastically participated in activities such as the "Fuzzy Wire Flower Craft" and "Cookiepreneur" sessions. For digital outreach, they learned the relevant skill of "Creating Reels for Evangelism" to maximize the Gospel’s reach online. Spiritual grounding was strengthened through practical sessions such as "Bible Marking," "Easy Bible Study," and "Living as God's Caretaker Stewardship." Personal development and leadership skills were sharpened through the "Song Leader Workshop," "Proper Grooming," health education at the "Wellness Care Station," and building confidence in "Grace Under the Spotlight." Beyond these vibrant gatherings and training sessions, this union-wide effort stands as a strong testament to collective, unified ministry. By working together to nurture these young women, institutions across the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference unite in advancing a singular mission with one voice.
Looking ahead, this journey is only beginning. With numerous exciting activities already planned for the Pink Ministries, the church eagerly anticipates how these newly trained, well-equipped, and spiritually grounded young leaders will continue to serve their communities and reach more lives for Christ.
