Long before their names appeared on the list of Bukidnon’s most outstanding private-school teachers, they had already been doing the work of guiding learners, leading beyond the classroom, pursuing professional growth, and turning education into ministry.

On September 11, 2026, that service received wider recognition as three Adventist educators representing the elementary, junior high school, and senior high school levels were honored at the First Bukidnon Educators’ Congress at the Bukidnon Sports and Cultural Complex in Laguitas, Malaybalay City.

Carrying the theme, “Empowering Educators, Inspiring Leaders: Building the Future of Bukidnon Learners,” the congress brought together teachers and school heads from the Schools Divisions of Bukidnon, Malaybalay City, and Valencia City. Part of the gathering was the recognition of outstanding private-school educators whose contributions have strengthened teaching, supported learner development, and enriched their schools and communities.

Among those recognized was Glenda T. Base of Mailag Adventist Elementary School, who was named Most Outstanding Private School Teacher for Key Stage 2, covering Grades 4 to 6.

Joining her were two educators from Mountain View College–Academy Department (MVCA). Rod Jean Claire B. Dullano, LPT, received the Most Outstanding Private School Teacher award for Key Stage 3, representing Junior High School, while Annamarie A. Casing, EdD, received the same distinction for Key Stage 4, representing Senior High School.

Behind these awards was a formal selection process. Before reaching the final list, nominees underwent documentary screening, evaluation, and judging by designated selection committees and evaluation teams. The process examined their contributions across seven major areas: Teaching Excellence; Student Development and Achievement; Innovation and Creativity; Professionalism and Integrity; Leadership and Collaboration; Community and Stakeholder Engagement; and Significant Accomplishments and Impact.

For the Adventist educational community, the recognition of teachers across three key stages offers an opportunity to share the purpose behind that work. From elementary school through senior high school, Adventist education seeks to bring academic learning, character development, faith, and service into the same educational experience.

Also present were Dr. Liel Gem V. Pondara, MVC Academy Principal, and Dr. Cris Pascua, MVC Elementary School Principal. Their attendance brought fellow Adventist school leaders into the occasion as the educators’ work received recognition beyond their own campuses.

The Province of Bukidnon also gave a Certificate of Commendation to MVC Elementary and Academy Departments for being a stakeholder of the Department of Education for more than two decades.

For MVCA, the celebration therefore returns to the calling that preceded the recognition: to teach faithfully and prepare young people for lives of purpose and service.

With gratitude for this recognition and the opportunity to promote Adventist education and its educators, MVCA gives all praise and glory to God, whose guidance sustains its ministry within the classroom and beyond. May this blessing affirm its enduring mission: preparing young people for useful lives in this world and for the higher joy of service in the world to come.
