SEPUM's Historic Inaugural Constituency Meeting: Making Significant Decisions and Selecting New Leaders

On December 4, 2023, at Adams Seventh-day Adventist Church in Davao City, President Pr. Danielo Palomares, newly appointed to lead Southeastern Philippine Union Mission, presided over its inaugural constituency meeting alongside fellow new administrators, Executive Secretary Pr. Magdadaro, and Treasurer Lawrence Lamera.

Swiftly, the meeting ratified the Operating Policy of the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission, an endorsement backed by the Executive Committee of the Southeast Asia Pacific Division.

A vote was carried out to approve the bifurcation of two missions in Mindanao: Northeastern Mindanao Mission and Southern Mindanao Mission. This decision resulted in the creation of Northeastern Mindanao Mission and Southeastern Caraga Mission, paving the way for the establishment of Southern Mindanao Mission and South Central Mindanao Mission. These newly created missions mark the continual development of Adventist outreach in Mindanao.

In the afternoon, a comprehensive financial, budget, and treasurer's report was presented and approved. It also addressed the allocation of funds between the two unions.

Following the reports, the nominating committee members announced to the general assembly the new SEPUM leaders and mission leaders under SEPUM territory. The assembly then approved the said elected leaders.

The event concluded with a Commitment Service in which elected leaders vowed to fulfill their responsibilities faithfully as entrusted by God to them.
