Day 1 of Youth Congress Launches Sports Events, 19 Skills Stations, and Devotional Series

Day 1 of the Youth Congress kicked off with a bang as sports events and skills stations were launched, captivating thousands of young individuals at Mountain View College on July 24, 2023. Following the grand opening ceremony, participants eagerly dispersed across campus in the afternoon to engage in a variety of activities.

Enthusiastic athletes and adventurers showcased their dedication and talent, drawing cheers and applause from friends and spectators alike. Meanwhile, others attended informative lectures, expanding their skills and knowledge in various fields.

Delegates had the opportunity to choose from nineteen stimulating stations, catering to both physical and mental abilities. These stations included archery, backpacking, camp cookery, digital photography, fish ball making, land navigation, marching and drilling, music, obstacle race, pendulum, psychological first aid, rappel, rescue, sanctuary, soap & fabric conditioner, social media, swimming, team building, and wall climbing.

Upon completion of a task at any of the stations, delegates received a stamp on their “My Accomplishments” list, located at the back of their program booklet. Additionally, they became eligible to receive a pathfinder honor for their accomplished skill.

In the evening, renowned evangelist Pr. Dan Smith launched his thought-provoking devotional series titled “Are You Saved?” He emphasized the importance of letting go of personal demons and inviting God to reside in one’s heart, leading to ultimate victory. “We are nothing more than sinners saved by grace,” he humbly stated.

Pr. Dan Smith serves as the dawn worship and evening devotional speaker throughout the duration of the youth congress.

Songs and Yells

Following the devotional program, delegates gathered at the grandstand for an hour of captivating songs and spirited yells. The eight mission fields presented a vibrant showcase of talent, captivating the audience with their lively performances.
