Empowering Women at the ZPM Women’s Convention: Faithful, Fearless, Flourishing

The ZPM Women’s Convention, held from April 17 to April 19, 2025, brought together women from 40 districts under the esteemed theme "Faithful, Fearless, Flourishing Women After God’s Own Heart." This annual event, organized by Mrs. Sharon Dulang, the Director of ZPM Women’s Ministries, served as a significant platform for spiritual development, education, and mission, underscoring the strength and resilience of women in their faith journeys.
The convention commenced with a vibrant motorcade on April 17, during which participants demonstrated their enthusiasm and solidarity. Following the parade, the opening program included a significant worship session led by Pastor Arnold Sombilon, President of the Zambonga Peninsula Mission (ZPM). His presence and message fostered a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees and instilled a sense of spiritual fervor. Participants also had the opportunity to enjoy cultural presentations that highlighted the community's diversity and richness.
On April 18, the day began with a cooking demonstration from 8:30 AM to 12:35 PM, emphasizing culinary skills while promoting fellowship among participants. The afternoon focused on women's mental health, featuring a significant lecture that highlighted the importance of community well-being. The day concluded with a vespers program led by Dr. Alevir Pido, Education Director of SwPUC, who delivered an inspiring message. The evening also included a heartfelt presentation of religious songs from various districts, leaving the audience in awe of the preparation demonstrated by each group. Judges were designated to evaluate the performances, ensuring recognition in various categories.
On the third day, April 19, the morning worship service featured Pastor Roxie Pido, Communications Director of SwPUC, as the speaker. She highlighted the story of the Samaritan Woman, recognized as the first woman evangelist to the men in her town. This was succeeded by the Sabbath School session, which welcomed esteemed speakers including Dr. Alevir Pido, Merna Pamunag, and Ma’am Marife Patalinghug, Children’s Ministries Director of SwPUC. Topics addressed ranged from overcoming fear to the empowerment of women in diverse facets of life, along with discussions on marital bliss, providing profound insights that resonated with the predominantly female audience. The Divine Service was anchored by Dr. Shirley Bacus, Women’s Ministries Director of SwPUC, who delivered an inspiring message that encapsulated the essence of the convention theme. In the afternoon, Dr. Kaye Ramos, a State University professor and spouse of ZPM treasurer, Pr. Ramos, shared her personal journey in a compelling presentation titled "My Story To Tell: A Journey of Faithful, Fearless, And Flourishing." Her narrative encouraged women to share their stories of faith and resilience.
The ZPM Women’s Convention functioned as a venue for spiritual enrichment and served as a reminder of the strength derived from unity and shared faith. Participants departed feeling inspired, empowered, and equipped to flourish in their spiritual journeys, embodying the convention's theme in their lives.
