Exciting Church Clerk Orientation Launches Across the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference

The Southwestern Philippine Union Conference (SwPUC) is launching a series of in-depth training sessions to provide church clerks with essential guidance on their administrative responsibilities and training on the Adventist Church Management System (ACMS). These sessions, organized by the SwPUC Secretariat Team, will take place from February to August of this year. The initiative aims to improve record-keeping, church governance, and digital management in accordance with the policies of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church.

These orientation sessions are specifically designed for all church clerks within the SwPUC territory, providing a unique opportunity to develop crucial skills and gain expertise in using the ACMS. The organizers stress the importance of these sessions in ensuring accurate record-keeping and facilitating smooth operations across the diverse church community.

A knowledgeable team of resource persons will lead the sessions, including three Administrative Assistants from SwPUC's administrative offices, all Executive Secretaries from the SwPUC territory, and Administrative Assistants from various Missions and Conferences. Their collective expertise promises to make this training invaluable for all participants.

Moreover, this orientation goes beyond routine training; it marks a significant step towards fostering a culture of compliance with SDA governance standards. Participants will acquire critical knowledge and skills that enable our church operations to remain efficient and responsive as we serve our communities with dedication and compassion.

Meantime, the Church Clerk Orientation has already experienced remarkable success in its initial sessions within two missions. The Zamboanga Peninsula Mission hosted its training on March 19-20, 2026, gathering 145 enthusiastic clerks. Following that, the Northeastern Mindanao Mission welcomed 118 registered participants on April 3-4, 2026. The enthusiasm and commitment displayed by the clerks were inspiring, leading to engaging discussions and thoughtful inquiries during the Q&A segments. This orientation program will include all SwPUC missions and conferences, with dates to be announced.

The  Office of the Executive Secretary of the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference is passionately leading this initiative, emphasizing the goal of building a competent, knowledgeable team of church clerks who can effectively serve their respective churches.

As this initiative moves forward with the remaining sessions across the SwPUC territory, anticipation grows for the positive impact this training will have on church administration and governance.
