Kids of Hope Donate Personal Items to Less Fortunate Children
Empowered to make a difference in the lives of the little children, the Children’s Ministries Department of South Philippine Union Conference headed by Mrs. Jill Palomares joined the world church in celebrating Global Children’s Day on March 19, 2022.
The staff of Kids of Hope together with their families stuffed shoeboxes with toys, personal care items, clothing, school supplies, and food for the 30 less fortunate children in barangay Mambuaya, Cagayan de Oro City.
“Getting the children involved in mission and service for Christian growth and maturity is one of our main priorities this year. This act of kindness, if practiced, will become their lifestyle that would greatly shape their Christian life into a life of service to God. It is fulfilling on our part to see kids excitedly grabbing shoe boxes, that instead of just one box, others grabbed four. The joy in their eyes made us all realize that if rightly trained, kids can do great things and create a difference in the lives of the children, even in simple ways”, Mrs. Jill Palomares enthusiastically delivered her words in an interview.
In addition to the shoeboxes of presents, kids also hand out personalized cards with Bible texts, sing songs, and pray for the kids.
Pastor Dan Palomares, the SPUC President, Pastor Rene Rosa, the Field Secretary, Mrs. Elizabeth Rosa, and the children’s families joined the team.
In his closing statement, Pr Rene Rosa emphasized that children’s ministries like this are perfect examples of total membership involvement.
