SPUC Education Department Leads Heartfelt Tribute to Dr. Diosdado Catalan
In a touching ceremony held at the Function Hall of the SPUC Compound on September 19, 2023, former SPUC Associate Education Director Dr. Diosdado Catalan was honored with a heartwarming tribute program. A dedicated and esteemed figure in Adventist education, Dr. Catalan recently retired from his position, leaving a legacy of excellence and commitment.
The event gathered educators, staff, and well-wishers from the Del Mar Adventist Elementary School and Golden Boulevard Adventist Elementary School, as well as education superintendents from various missions and conferences within the SPUC. SPUC Education Director Dr. Alevir Pido delivered a heartfelt message, inspiring the attendees with words of gratitude and admiration for Dr. Catalan's lifelong dedication to the cause of Adventist education.
Education superintendents from missions and conferences across the SPUC region also joined in paying their respects to Dr. Catalan. They shared their personal experiences, stories of inspiration, and valuable lessons learned from working alongside him throughout his illustrious career. The emotional tribute culminated in Dr. Diosdado Catalan being presented with a certificate of recognition in honor of his unwavering service and commitment to Adventist education. The certificate symbolized the deep appreciation felt by his colleagues and the entire Adventist education community.
In response to the tribute, Dr. Catalan thanked his former colleagues and his family, especially his wife, for her relentless support throughout his remarkable journey in the service of Adventist educational institutions. Adding to the emotional atmosphere, Dr. Catalan's daughter, Lovely Catalan, took the stage to pay tribute to her father. She recounted the family's journey through the trials and tribulations of his battle with a life-threatening disease.
