The council voted to approve the bifurcation of the organization, signifying a significant change within its structure. This historic decision, which will come into effect on December 31, 2023, paves the way for a transformative transition that will unlock new growth opportunities, foster enhanced collaboration, and amplify the organization's effectiveness in fulfilling its mission.


In a touching ceremony held at the Function Hall of the SPUC Compound on September 19, 2023, former SPUC Associate Education Director Dr. Diosdado Catalan was honored with a heartwarming tribute program. A dedicated and esteemed figure in Adventist education, Dr. Catalan recently retired from his position, leaving a legacy of excellence and commitment.


In a highly anticipated comeback, the beloved nightly series, "My Journey with God," has made its successful return for its fourth season. The show continues to enthrall audiences with profound insights into the core beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving as a platform for deep reflection and spiritual contemplation.


In an effort to strengthen and enhance evangelistic practices within the South Philippine Union Conference, esteemed researchers from Mountain View College, Adventist Medical Center College, and South Philippine Adventist College have embarked on a groundbreaking study focused on the correlation between evangelistic practices and church retention.


Adventist-Muslim Relations directors hailing from various institutions, missions, and conferences within the South Philippine Union Conference recently concluded an intensive five-day training program aimed at bolstering their knowledge and understanding of interfaith relations. The event, held from August 29 to September 2, 2023, took place at the Korean Church, situated within the SPUC Compound.


Ninety missionaries from the South Philippine Union Conference underwent a six-day event "Frontliners’ Training and Certification" at ZPM headquarters in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, from August 22 to 26, 2023. This program, organized by the Southern Asia Pacific Division, aimed to empower missionaries with essential skills for challenging mission fields.


In a bid to enhance the spiritual well-being of chaplains while they serve their patients, the Chaplain Advisory and Colloquium was held from August 21 to 23, 2023.
