SwPUC and WMC Acknowledge Congresswoman Yu for Championing Franchise Renewal and Supporting Civic Engagements of the Church in the South

On March 25, 2024, Pastor Roxie Pido, the Communication Director of the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference (SwPUC), along with administrators from the Western Mindanao Conference, visited Congresswoman Hon. Divina Grace Yu at her satellite office in Pagadian City. They represented Hope Channel Philippines, Adventist World Radio (AWR), and the Western Mindanao Conference, and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Congresswoman Yu for her significant support in ensuring the renewal of Hope Channel's franchise in the Philippine Congress.

SwPUC Pathfinder Inspection 2024 Bolsters Youth Leadership

Pr. Joy Colegado, in his role as the union director of the youth department, led a team of youth directors from the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference (SwPUC) that embarked on a comprehensive Pathfinder inspection tour of ten Adventist academies within the region from February 19 to March 7, 2024. Anukul Richel, the Pathfinder Director of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), was also present during the tour.

The on-boarding process for new department managers at Adventist Medical Center Iligan took place on January 9, 2024, marking the commencement of their crucial roles within our organization. During this orientation period, the newly appointed department heads underwent comprehensive training sessions to familiarize themselves with key aspects of their positions and the hospital's operating procedures.

At the dawn of the new year, Adventist Medical Center Iligan (AMCI) upholds the tradition of conducting its Workers Commitment Service and Department Managers Dedication Program, a solemn occasion that signifies the dedication and commitment of the hospital's workforce. This year, on January 12, 2024, amidst the backdrop of the hospital's inaugural Board Meeting, the esteemed Chairman of the Board and President of the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference (SWPUC), Pastor Jerry Patalinghug, delivered an inspiring message to mark the occasion.

Writers' Summit Inspires Participants to Bring Hope to Readers

Seventy writers within the Zamboanga Peninsula Mission attended the Writers’ Summit held at its mission office on March 1-2, 2024. With the theme “Penning Hope, Preserving Memories, Inspiring Lives," the event presented the following guest speakers: Pastor Roxie Pido, Communication Director of the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference; Dr. Matilde Benito, retired ZPM Communications Director; and Quin Salarda, a SWPUC communication staff.

"We Exist for the Mission, Not the Mission for Us," Affirms Pastor Saw Samuel During the Commitment and Service at SWPUC

Pastor Saw Samuel conveyed a message at the Commitment and Service event, which brought together leaders from the union, missions, and conferences on Thursday evening, March 7, 2024, at SWPUC Garden Church. During his address, he emphasized the importance for leaders to reflect on their calling and purpose in ministry.

"The church is organized for service, and its mission is to carry the gospel to the world. The church exists for the mission. We exist for the mission, not mission exists for us," he said.
