SwPUC celebrates 150 years of Adventist Education, second largest worldwide

The Education Department of the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference celebrated 150 years of Adventist education, beginning in 1874 with the establishment of Battle Creek College in Michigan, United States. With 9,845 educational institutions in over 100 countries, the Seventh-day Adventist Church is recognized as the second-large education system in the world today. 

SwPUC concludes 2024 year-end executive committee meeting

The Southwestern Philippine Union Conference concluded its year-end executive committee meeting, held from November 17 to 20, 2024, at the SwPUC Garden Church in Cagayan de Oro City. A significant portion of the discussions focused on finalizing the calendar for Thirteenth Sabbath Offerings, regular offerings, and special events spanning 2025 to 2031.

Caravan for Mission 2024 brought over 1,000 souls to Christ through Baptism

The union-wide initiative Caravan for Mission 2024 carried the transformative message of the Gospel to 24 venues across the Zamboanga Peninsula Mission (ZPM) territory through nightly evangelistic meetings. The Caravan shared messages of hope, healing, and salvation, reaching thousands in communities across the region.

Southwestern Philippine Union Conference honors 150 years of Adventist missionary work

The Southwestern Philippine Union Conference joined the celebration of 150 years of Adventist missionary work, which began in 1874 when J.N. Andrews became the first known Adventist missionary. The celebration was held at the SwPUC Garden Church on September 20 and attended by administrators from Adventist institutions, along with missionaries and representatives from missions and conferences.

Thousands of non-Adventist campers join Friendship Camps in Southwestern Mindanao this July

About 2,800 non-Adventist campers participated in Friendship Camps held across various regions of Southwestern Mindanao during the first and second weeks of July 2024.
Friendship Camp, a program launched by the SwPUC Youth Department over the past decade, has become an avenue for Adventist teens, ages 13-18, to connect with their non-Adventist friends in the said region. The camp offers a warm space and an engaging environment for creating friendships and introducing the Adventist faith.

Comprehensive Textbook Evaluation Leads to New Selections for SwPUC Adventist Schools

Textbooks from five publishing companies—ABIVA Publishing House Inc., C & E Bookshop, DIWA Learning Systems Inc., Phoenix Publishing House, and REX Book Store — have been selected as the new educational materials for Adventist schools from nursery to senior high level in SwPUC in the next three years. The selection process was held on May 6-7, 2023, at the union headquarters.

Adventist World Radio Launches New FM Frequency (89.1) in Metro Manila

Adventist World Radio (AWR) recently celebrated the inauguration of a new broadcast facility at the North Philippine Union Conference (NPUC) and the acquisition of 89.1 frequency of Wave FM radio station in Metro Manila through a strategic airtime lease agreement. The event was attended by distinguished guests, such as Pastor Duane McKey, President of AWR International, and key officers from the Asia region led by Pastor Robert Dulay. Notable attendees included the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) delegation, with Pastor Roger Caderma, the SSD President, leading the group.
